High Intensity Daily Personal Activities

About This Service
Some participants require support that goes well beyond standard personal care — involving complex medical and clinical procedures that require specialist training, formal certification, and a high degree of clinical knowledge. Heartful Care Services is specifically registered and approved by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to deliver High Intensity Daily Personal Activities.
Our support workers who deliver high intensity supports hold the specialist certifications required by the NDIS Commission for each specific procedure they are authorised to deliver. They work in close coordination with your medical team — your GP, specialist and allied health providers — to ensure your clinical care plan is followed accurately, safely and consistently at all times.
Safety is not a checkbox for us — it is embedded in every process, every shift handover, and every participant interaction. We do not compromise on clinical standards.
What We Help With
  • Complex bowel care — manual evacuation, suppositories and enemas
  • Enteral feeding and nutritional management — nasogastric and PEG/PEJ tube management
  • Tracheostomy management — tube care, suctioning and airway management
  • Urinary catheter management — insertion, care and management of indwelling catheters
  • Ventilator management — support for participants on mechanical ventilation
  • Subcutaneous injections — administration of prescribed subcutaneous medications
  • Complex wound management — assessment, dressing and monitoring of complex wounds
  • Severe dysphagia management — support for participants with severe swallowing difficulties
  • Day-to-day medication management — administration, monitoring and documentation
  • Disposal of waste, infectious and hazardous substances
  • Implementation of restrictive practices — where lawfully authorised and documented
Our Approach
Every high intensity support engagement begins with a thorough clinical assessment and documented care plan, developed in partnership with your treating medical team. We do not commence any high intensity procedure without appropriate authorisation, documentation, and verification of worker competency for that specific procedure.
We maintain active supervision plans for all high intensity participants, provide regular reports to key personnel, conduct clinical reviews, and escalate any concerns without delay. Our incident management and reporting systems fully meet NDIS Commission requirements.
